This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how Legrand North and Central America, LLC (“Legrand,” “we,” or “us”) treats personal information we collect about you, including through our websites, applications, and platforms where the Policy is located (the “Platform”).

Types of Personal Information We Collect

Legrand collects personal information from you and about you. Here are some examples of the personal information we may collect:

  • Identifying Information. For example, we may collect your name and nickname, mailing address, unique personal identifiers, online identifiers, telephone and/or mobile number and email address.

  • Payment Information. For example, we may collect your credit card number and billing address. We may also collect your social security number for customer reimbursements.

  • Account Information. If you create an account with us, we may collect your account log-in or name, customer ID, and your password.

  • Social Media Information. We may collect personal information you post on our social media pages. We may also collect your social media profile information and personal information posted on your page.

  • Employment Information. For example, if you apply for a job with us, we collect the personal information you include in your application. For example, this may include the name and address of your employer and your employment history. We may also collect information about your education history.

  • Information You Post or Submit. We may collect personal information you post in a public space on our Platform. We may collect personal information when you send us a message through the “Contact Us” page or similar features on our Platform. If you call into customer service support, we may keep a recording of the conversation for training and quality assurance purposes.

  • Demographic Information. We may collect your age, gender and location/zip code, marital status, income range, and details about your home e.g., if you rent or own, square footage, room descriptions.

We may collect personal information that could identify you and relates to the products or services in which you are interested, or have considered or purchased. We may also collect personal information about your shopping habits, product feedback and preferences, or consuming history or tendencies. If you are making a purchase on behalf of your employer or company, we may collect information about that business and your role.

  • Product Information. We may collect some information from our products. This may include your name, email address, physical location, and internal IP address. We may also collect your device’s username and password as well as information regarding how you use our products, e.g., telemetry data, information on your settings, offline/online status. We may also collect information about how you use our products, including device placement within the home and product setup information.

  • Device Information. For example, we may collect the type of device you use to access our Platform. We may also collect your browser information, device identifier, hardware or firmware version, MAC or IP address, or mobile operating system.

  • Location Information. For example, we may collect precise location information from your device. This may include information about your exact location when you use our Platform.

We might look at what site you came from, or what site you visit when you leave us. We may also collect information about how you interact with an advertisement. Legrand collects your personal information in different ways. Below are some examples of how we may collect your personal information.

    • Place a product in your shopping cart or save a product in your online shopping cart.

    • Sign up to “get the latest information” or other LNCA newsletters or updates.

    • Register for a product warranty or submit a warranty claim.

    • Sign up for training through Legrand AV University or attend a webinar.

    • Otherwise communicate with us.

  • Passively. For example, when you:

    • Visit or use our Platform on any device, e.g. browsing a website, using a mobile application to manage a connected device.

    • Enable location-based features on our Platform.

    We may also collect personal information about users over time and across different websites, apps and devices when you use the Platform. Third parties also collect personal information this way on our Platform.

  • From Third Parties. We may receive personal information about you from other sources. For example, this may include receiving personal information from:

    • Our business partners, including online advertising networks and third-parties that collect and aggregate product reviews.

    • Social media sites, including Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Snapchat and Instagram.

  • By Combining Information. For example, we may:

    • Combine personal information that we collect offline with personal information we collect through our Platform.

    • Combine personal information we collect about you from the different devices you use to access our Platform.

We might tell you about new features or updates. These might be third party offers or products we think you might find interesting. We may also use your personal information to send you electronic communications, including through email.   • To Send Alert Notifications. If you use our mobile apps to manage a connected device, we may send you push notifications and alerts via text and email based on service configurations and thresholds or if a device goes offline.

  • Internally. We may share your personal information with our parent company, affiliates and subsidiaries.

Children Under 16

The Platform where this Policy is located are meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable data from persons under the age of 16, and strive to comply with the provisions of COPPA (The Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act). Choices Regarding Your Information

Cookies & Other Tracking Technologies:
Your browser may give you the ability to control cookies or other tracking tools. How you do so depend on the type of tool. Certain browsers can be set to reject browser cookies. To control flash cookies, which we may use on certain websites from time to time, you can go here. Why? Because flash cookies cannot be controlled through your browser settings.

Our Do Not Track Policy:
Some browsers have “do not track” features that allow you to tell a website not to track you. These features are not all uniform. We do not currently respond to those signals. The California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) requires us to make specific disclosures about how we collect, use and share the personal information of California residents who are subject to CCPA (“California Consumer Personal Information”). CCPA also grants such California residents certain rights related to their personal information.

This section of our Privacy Policy explains our online and offline collection of California Consumer Personal Information, and includes instructions for California residents who wish to exercise their rights under CCPA.
